TERM 4 NEWSLETTER
An exciting term awaits......
The ballet exams and eisteddfods are behind us now and the dance spectacular concert is approaching rapidly.
The fun in preparing the dances /choreography, and experiencing the camaraderie amongst the students is an essential essence of their studies and growth.
We all look forward to presenting another great spectacular.
CONCERT NEWS
Please note, the concert is in TWO parts, Junior concert in the morning and Senior concert in the afternoon:
JUNIOR DANCE STAR SPECTACULAR (Morning)
When: SUNDAY 14TH DECEMBER 2008
At: TOM MANN THEATRE, 136 CHALMERS ST, SURRY HILLS
Time: 10.00AM TO 11.30AM
CLASSES INVOLVED
Dance fantasy: Friday 3.30pm, Saturday 8.30am and 9.00am
Primary ballet: Friday 4.00pm and Saturday 9.30 am
Grade 1 ballet: Tuesday 3.30pm
Jazz level 1: Monday 3.30pm and Saturday 10.30am
WHAT’S INVOLVED
Students will arrive at the theatre at 9.30am SHARP, where I shall meet you in the foyer then escort the children onto the stage with the help of Miss Elena where we shall settle them into their new surroundings. At 9.45am, you the audience shall enter the auditorium, where the children will see you settle into your seats and know the whereabouts of where you are sitting which is reassuring for them.
COMPULSARY DRESS REHEARSAL
When: Saturday 15th November
Where: Dance Star Studios
Time: 9.30am – 11.00am
COMPULSARY TECHNICAL REHEARSAL
When: Thursday 11th December
Where: Tom Mann Theatre 136 Chalmers st, Surry Hills

Note: Both rehearsal are not for dance fantasy students! Only for primary ballet, grade 1 ballet and jazz level 1.
COSTUME HIRE
Costumes are hired for most items, the cost being approx $8.00 - $20.00
Costumes will be sent home a week before the concert and they are to be returned the following week in a marked bag so that your name is ticked off the list.
TICKET PRICES
ADULTS: $18.00
CHILDREN: $12.00 (4+yrs)
Tickets on sale from Monday 13th October 2008.
DVD
To capture this special occasion the concert is being professionally filmed and available on DVD to purchase in the New Year. Photography and filming is prohibited as it is disturbing for the audience and the performers. Sit back, relax and enjoy the show, knowing that the memories are being captured for you. No doubt the DVD will be a wonderful recollection and study tool for the students as they progress in their studies. They will enjoy watching their friends and themselves over and over again.

Please arrive at the theatre 10 minutes earlier than your rehearsal time stated so that you are not late. Parents are not permitted in the auditorium during the rehearsal. Please drop and pick the children up in the foyer. The carers will meet them and deliver them back to you in the foyer. Thank you.
SENIOR DANCE SPECTACULAR (Afternoon)
When: SUNDAY 14TH DECEMBER 2008
At: TOM MANN THEATRE, 136 CHALMERS ST, SURRY HILLS
Time: 2.00PM – 4.30PM
WHAT’S INVOLVED
The students will arrive between 11.30am and 12.00pm to prepare make-up, hair grooming, costuming and a warm up class. Please drop the students off in the foyer and the helpers will escort them to the dressing room. NO PARENTS TO GO BACK STAGE OR INTO THE DRESSING ROOMS PLEASE.
